Professional Indemnity

The purpose of Professional Indemnity insurance is to protect professional people or others who supply a skill or service against their legal liability to compensate third parties who have sustained some injury, loss or damage due to their professional negligence.

Liability under the policy is a strict legal rather than a moral liability contract.

Policy Cover

There is no standard form of Professional Indemnity insurance policy covering use. The following however, is an example of the type of cover which is generally available.

'The Company agrees subject to the terms, exceptions, limits and conditions of this policy to indemnify the insured against any claim for damages, or breach of professional duty which may be made against him during the period of insurance due to any negligent act, error or omission whenever or wherever the same was or was alleged to have been committed by the insured or their predecessors in business or any employee of the insured or their predecessors in business in the conduct of the business.'

Policies can be arranged for varying levels and limits of indemnity.

We are also able to arrange for numerous extensions in the basic cover to tailor the policy to our client's needs such as:
