Household Insurance
We are able to
offer competitive, comprehensive cover to protect both the buildings
of your house and your treasured contents inside, with many leading
insurers.
Whether
you are just staring out with your first home or need to insure the
family heirlooms, we can offer a policy tailored to your needs.
Buildings Insurance
Home buildings insurance as the
name would suggest, protects the structure of your home including outbuildings,
drives, patios etc.
The amount your insure your home for should reflect the amount it would
cost to rebuild the home and outbuildings which is not necessarily the
same as the market value of the property.
Cover can be arranged on what is known as a Fire and Perils basis which
will protect you against most major catastrophes such as a fire or burglary,
or on a full Accidental Damage basis, providing wider protection against
any accidental damage.
Insured with
your Mortgage Lender?
Many people, when buying their
home do so with a mortgage and may feel they have to purchase the mortgage
lenders' insurance products. This is not usually the case!
In our experience, we can often provide similar cover at up to 30% less
than that charged by the lender.
The policies we provide are all from insurers who are members of the
Association of British Insurers (ABI) whose wordings are approved by
all of the major mortgage lenders.
If your lender makes a charge to switch insurers, in some cases we can
even refund this up to £25.
Contents Insurance
Contents insurance can be arranged
to protect your possessions against loss or damage and again we can
offer tailor made policies to suit your individual needs.
Cover can be provided to protect you against a catastrophe and if you
wish, any accidental damage, such as a spill on the carpet or dropping
your specs.
Cover can also be arranged in addition to protect your belongings whilst
they are with you away from your home, for example whilst you are on
holiday or at the golf club.
We can offer many schemes from
major insurers, many of whom offer policies which provide a sum insured
of £30,000 or £40,000 automatically and base the premium
on the number of bedrooms your property has. This can therefore eliminate
the worry of trying to calculate the value of all of your contents yourself
and prevent under-insurance problems.
Some insurers now offer discounts
if you combine both your Buildings and Contents together under one policy.
